Suburbia North Animal Hospital is a well established, full service, small animal veterinary hospital providing comprehensive medical, surgical and dental care. We provide a broad spectrum of diagnostic procedures through in-house testing and the use of outside laboratories.  We also specialize in canine reproduction.

At Suburbia North Animal Hospital we strive to offer not only sound advice, but also optimal veterinary care, thus allowing you the enjoyment of your companion for a maximum number of years.  Our job is not only to treat your pet when he or she isn't feeling well, but also to help you learn how to keep your best friend happy and healthy.  We have so many clients that have been with us for 20 years or more.  We want every client whether new or old to feel like they are in a warm, pet loving environment surrounded by friends.

  • Kay McGuire, DVM, MS, BS

    Suburbia North Animal Hospital is owned and operated by Kay McGuire, DVM, MS. 

    Dr. McGuire is a 1988 Graduate of Texas A& M University.  She holds a B.S. in Wildlife and Fisheries Science and a M.S. in Veterinary Epidemiology, all from Texas A& M University.

    Dr. McGuire's special interest is small animal medicine and soft tissue surgery.  Her hobbies center around her love of dogs, competing in dog shows in both conformation and performance events.  She has produced many Champions in both Gordon Setters and West Highland White Terriers which she enjoys exhibiting herself.  She is also recognized as a Breeder of Merit by The American Kennel Club.  She serves as Health Chair of the West Highland White Terrier Club of America, Vice President of Health for the Westie Foundation of America, and Vice President of the West Highland White Terrier Club of Southeast Texas. She is a member in good standing with the Westie Club of England, Trinity Valley WHWTC Club, Gordon Setter Club of America and Suncoast Gordon Setter Club.

  • Meredith Feng, DVM

    Dr. Meredith Feng grew up in Houston, Texas and received a BS degree in Architectural Engineering from the University of Texas, at Austin.  After working in the construction industry for a few years, she realized her true calling was to work with animals.  She graduated from Texas A&M University in 2012 with her Doctor of Veterinary Medicine degree.  Dr. Feng loves all aspects of veterinary medicine, but she is particularly interested in dermatology and ophthalmology.  

    When she’s not working, she enjoys going to the gym and catching up on her favorite television shows, but most of all, spending time with her family.  

    Dr. Feng's family includes her husband Nick, their twin daughters Harper and Hayden, and their dogs!

    Dr. Feng is OFF Mondays.

  • Catherine Smith, DVM

    Dr. Smith was born and raised in Memphis, Tennessee.  She received a B.S. in Biological Sciences with a minor in Wildlife and Fisheries Science from the University of Tennessee, Knoxville.  She obtained her DVM from Purdue University in 2017.  After finishing vet school, Dr. Smith moved to the Houston area to be closer to family.

    Dr. Smith enjoys working with cats and dogs but has a special interest in exotic animal medicine.  Since she was a child, she has owned and worked with several difference species of small mammals, amphibians, and reptiles.  She particularly loves turtles! Her evolving group currently includes box turtles, red eared sliders, a ball python, a leopard gecko and a cat.

    Dr. Smith and her husband stay busy raising their 2 young children.  If she finds spare time, she enjoys arts and crafts, nature, music, comedies and exploring Houston with her family.

  • Jenny Yanson, Hospital Manager

    Jenny is our Hospital Manager and has been with us since 2001.  
    She handles the hospital and office necessities, customer service and our frozen semen freezing and storage. 
    She is always ready to help our clients with any questions or problems they may have.  Jenny has lived in Texas most of her life and she and her husband have lots of dogs and cats that they spoil!

  • Sarah, Veterinary Technician & Inventory Manager & Staff Supervisor

    Sarah is one of our Veterinary Technicians as well as our Inventory Manager.  Sarah has been in the veterinary field since 1995, graduated from Tomball Veterinary Technician School and has worked for Dr. McGuire since 1998.  She and her husband have 2 children, 1 dog and 2 cats.
  • Doris, Veterinary Receptionist

    Doris is one of our Receptionists.  She has worked for us since 2004 and before that she was a loyal client for many years.  Her hobby is breeding, raising, and exhibiting Champion Cardigan Welsh Corgi's.  She has been very successful with her breeding program for numerous years, including owner/breeder of 2005's National Specialty Winner.
  • Keri, Veterinary Receptionist, Vet Tech & Puppy Raiser

    Keri is one of our morning receptionists and has been with us since 2012.  She love, love, loves English Bulldogs and has many of them along with her French Bulldogs!  She also has a huge passion for puppies in need and is our expert when it comes to newborn puppies in need of tube feeding or other care due to medical problems such as cleft palates and more.

  • Mayra, Veterinary Technician

    Mayra is one of our morning surgery Veterinary Technicians. 
    She has been with us since 2008 and is excellent in surgery and performing dental cleanings to make your pets mouth sparkle! She lives with her 3 children, many dogs and a Chinchilla named Shakespeare!
  • Luisa, Veterinary Technician

    Luisa is one of our morning surgery Veterinary Technicians. Luisa is our leader in surgeries and also handles all of our dental cleanings with Mayra and has been with us since 2011.  She is crazy for all animals and is the proud owner of a German Shepherd and a French Bulldog with her daughter and husband.

  • Bethany, Veterinary Technician

    Bethany worked for us a few years ago and then moved to Colorado.  We are so happy that she is back with us!  She is a very experienced Vet Tech who graduated from the Vet Tech Institute in 2012.
  • Melissa, Veterinary Technician

    Melissa came to our clinic in the middle of the pandemic and has been a wonderful addition!  She has hit the ground running and learning!
  • Megann, Veterinary Technician

    Meghann is our new receptionist and comes with lots of experience with pets from Camp Bow Wow!  
    She is pursuing a B.S. in Fisheries and Wildlife Science with a minor in German.  She likes movie trivia, anything horror genre and video games!
  • Lynn, Kennel Assistant

    Lynn is one of our animal care technicians and has been with us since 2010.   Lynn went to school in Michigan and has dogs, cats, and lots of birds!    Lynn takes great care of all of our hospitalized and boarding patients and she just can't help but to spoil them all during their stay with us! 
  • Amaryllis aka Amy, Clinic Cat

    Amy was a stray we found in the parking lot.  We had been feeding her for a while and it took her a long time to trust us enough to come into the building.  She is still very shy but loves her new sister Poppy!
  • Poppy, Clinic Cat

    Poppy was found by a police officer hanging off a fence by her leg.  Unfortunately Poppy's leg was in bad shape and could not be saved.  Poppy doesn't care one bit and runs all over the clinic.  She too is very shy but adores snuggling and wrestling with her sister Amy!
  • Bo Jangels, Clinic Cat

    Bo came to us when his elderly owner who was a client of ours passed away.  We found him a home with another client who years later also passed away.  Bo is the sweetest kitty and we couldn't bear the thought of shoving him off to someone else so we kept him!  He melted right in to our little family!
